Authentic champagnes from “Grands Crus” plots in Verzenay
Stéphane Vignon offers you champagnes from micro-plots. All in Grand Cru, Extra Brut, Vintage, and with as little intervention as possible: this is his philosophy, champagne is a wine above all.
Most of our wines are made in barrels, their wood comes from the family forest, a unique fact in Champagne, with natural yeasts, without fining or filtration.
At the head of the estate since 2001, Stéphane Vignon is first and foremost a committed man. Love of the land and preservation of the environment are at the heart of his concerns. The Vignon family practices sustainable viticulture: the vineyard is in conversion to obtain HVE (High Environmental Value).
Champagne making is a complex art. Our know-how has been passed on from generation to generation. We offer you wines in the purest Champagne tradition for your greatest pleasure.
Stéphane Vignon is a member of Disciples d’Escoffier International, Académie Nationale de Cuisine, les Toques Françaises, and partner of Euro-Toques Österreich, whose fundamental values are sharing and transmission.

From Forest to Barrel

At Vignon Père & Fils, every decision is guided by a single conviction: to express the true identity of our terroirs with honesty and precision.
This philosophy has led us one step further by incorporating oak from our own estate into the crafting of selected barrels. The trees, carefully chosen from our family forest, are sustainably harvested and transformed by the Champagne cooperage after several years of natural seasoning. This meticulous process gives rise to unique barrels, deeply connected to the very terroir from which they originate.
For Stéphane Vignon, oak is an integral part of the vineyard’s ecosystem.
Having grown on the same soil, it shares a common history with our vines.
Using this wood to age our wines extends the dialogue between the vineyard and its natural environment, in an approach where every detail contributes to expressing the character of the terroir.
Each parcel is vinified separately and aged on its lees, without fining or filtration, following a precise and respectful élevage. The barrel is never intended to impart overt oak flavours; rather, it gently accompanies the wine’s evolution, bringing depth, texture, and allowing the full complexity of its origin to emerge.
This approach, unique in Champagne, is the result of many years of reflection, experimentation, and close collaboration with passionate coopers. It reflects our commitment to mastering every stage of the winemaking process—from the vineyard parcel to the barrel—in order to craft Champagnes that are authentic, precise, and deeply rooted in their place of origin.
More than simply a vessel, each barrel tells a story: the story of a tree, a soil, a craft, and a terroir that finds expression even in the wood accompanying the birth of our wines.
